What It Is:

  • Initial meeting to review and assess student learning preferences, interests, strengths, challenges, and goals

  • Establish rapport to ensure personality match; Provide additional referrals as needed

How Long It Lasts:

  Generally 30 minutes to 1 hour

Where It Is:

  Client choice: in-home, at library, on-campus, coffee shop or cafe, even outside areas if preferred

What It Includes:

  •   Student notebook or folder with anchor charts, visuals, diagrams, tip sheets, and basic supplies (Digital or print version available)

  •   Diagnostic assessment (Digital or print version available) 

  •  Sample lesson plan templates, goal-setting pages, and progress tracking pages

Academic English Tutoring

What It Is:

  • Individual, private instruction on a 1:1 basis with myself, certified English teacher to provide the skills needed for successful reading, writing, critical thinking, and "learning to learn better"

  • Review and assist with any specific assignments, and/or provide structured lessons targeting skill deficits based on unique learning preferences

What It Costs:

  $50.00 for in-person; $45.00 for online

How Long It Lasts:

  1 Hour Minimum (You may request 1.5 hours, or schedule up to 3 hours per session - Just contact me to request.)

Where It Is:

  Client choice: in-home, at library, on-campus, coffee shop or cafe, even outside areas if preferred

What It Includes:

  •   Individual, custom-built lesson plan based on student portfolio (i.e. interests, strengths to capitalize on, preferred method/style, etc.)

  •   Copies of materials (digital or print) including lesson plan/outline, progress notes, goal tracking, practice assignments, etc.)

  •   Extra practice or extension activities, optional (i.e. "homework")

  •   For online sessions, copies of recorded sessions by request.

English as a Second Language (ESL) Tutoring

What It Is:

  • One-on-one tutoring with a certified English instructor (myself) for speakers of other languages or non-native speakers

  • Designed specifically for improving English language speaking, listening, reading, and writing (non-academic)

  • Preparation for TOEFL or similar exams, pronunciation, citizenship guidance, conversation skills, and business English skills.

What It Costs:

  $50.00 for in-person; $45.00 for online

How Long It Lasts: 

1 Hour Minimum (You may request 1.5 hours, or schedule up to 3 hours per session - Just contact me to request.)

Where It Is:

  Client choice: in-home, at library, on-campus, coffee shop or cafe, even outside areas if preferred (Note: It is very important to ensure the location of choice has no distractions and is as quiet as possible!)

What It Includes:

  •   Student notebook or folder with anchor charts, visuals, diagrams, tip sheets, and basic supplies (Digital or print version available)

Summer Programs

What It Is : Choose from Three Summer Plans:

  • Summer Advantage - Provides a complete overview of next-year ELA curriculum (including what new TEKS/skills are added), summer reading/assignment help as needed , standardized test preparation, advanced study skills, and more. Students will follow a summer calendar with each day devoted to a specific skill/TEK/strategy to ensure they are exceptionally prepared for serious academic achievement this fall.

  • STAAR Boot Camp - For students who did not pass English I or English II STAAR End-of-Course exams and will be re-testing this upcoming year. With twice-weekly meetings of one hour each with new and innovative strategies that are individualized, students will be STAAR-ready and STAAR-finished by this fall.

  • Creative Writing - Enrich your mind and nurture creativity this summer with creative writing coaching in the areas of fiction, non-fiction, and/or poetry. Students will receive individualized attention to polish their work and perfect their craft, whether beginner-level or advanced, culminating in a final peer workshop.

What It Costs:

    $495.00, Paid in advance, or 2 Payments of $275.00 in June and July

How Long It Lasts:

     Eight Weeks, lasting June 13th through August 5th; Twice per week (for all programs)

  Client choice: in-home, at library, on-campus, coffee shop or cafe, even outside areas if preferred

  All materials, resources, and supplies included (both paper/physical and digital/virtual)

Editing + Writing Services

What It Is : Choose from Three Summer Plans:

  • Professional editing,, proofreading, copywriting, ghostwriting, and other freelance writing and editing tasks on a one-time, recurring, or as-needed basis for students, authors, publishers, businesses, and academics.is 

  • No-cost consultation to discuss specific project needs, deadlines, guidelines, formatting, etc. 

  • For academics, if your project is 5 pages or less, please contact me with a request instead of scheduling a consultation. 

What It Costs:

    Varies by Request - Contact for further information

How Long It Lasts:

     Based on project deadline; Emergency, last-minute deadlines can and likely will require a larger overall or upfront cost.

Where It Is:

  N/A - Virtual

What It Includes:

  •   Explanations of edits and revisions made

  •  Client choice of word processing software: Microsoft Word with Tracked Changes On, Google Docs with Compare feature, or Adobe suite of products. 

  • Developmental summary/review as well as second additional round of edits based on client feedback
